Introducing the New Princess 68
07/18/2014
INTRODUCING THE PRINCESS 68: Setting a New Class Standard

WONDERFULLY PROGRESSIVE, INCREDIBLY CAPABLE, CLASSICALLY PRINCESS

Scheduled for a European premiere this fall, and North American introduction at the 2015 Miami Yacht and Brokerage Show, the Princess 68 promises to rewrite the rulebook on flybridge luxury, space, and performance. Fitting into the Princess flybridge range between the 64 and 72 Motor Yacht, the 68 enjoys the highest level of internal volume ever created by Princess for a given length, delivering four class leading staterooms, a vast main salon, and entertaining space on the flybridge and main exterior deck to rival vessels in the 75 foot range and beyond. Aside from the simple virtue of space, the 68 will also come packed with features, many of which are a first for a yacht of this size.

Across the main deck level, a galley aft layout allows dining options both inside and out, being perfectly placed to serve the aft deck. The synergy between interior and deck is further enhanced by an electric window that turns the aft galley countertop into a serving bar for the aft deck. A small step up from the inside dining area, the main salon enjoys incredible views from the full height side windows, while ahead the helm position is joined by raised L-shape seating to port, so friends and family can all be involved while underway.

The 68's Master Stateroom features a private stairwell and lobby, with the guest staterooms being accessed by a separate stairwell forward. This unique design, more commonly found in much larger yachts, ensures total privacy for the owner as well as guests.

The aft deck is ideally suited for al fresco dining and comes suitably dressed for the occasion with mood lighting, beautifully upholstered seating for eight, and a large teak table. After dinner you might choose to retreat to the bathing platform where an aft-facing twin seat is set into the transom.

At the bow, a walk-through foredeck comes complete with an elegant seating area, large sunpad, and plenty of stowage. The flybridge above boasts vast sections of seating with the ability to accommodate five people across the helm area, a full wetbar to keep everyone refreshed, and the added ability to convert the forward seating into a large sunpad. An optional factory hardtop with electrically opening center section complements the yacht's stunning profile while providing ample shade.

Out at sea, the Princess 68 promises to deliver another classically refined driving experience with superb poise all the way up to a top speed in excess of 30 knots, with fast efficient cruising above 25 knots. The hull's variable underwater geometry is designed to return smooth progress over the waves, while the resin-infused composite build method creates a structure that is lightweight but immensely strong, allowing for greater fuel efficiency without sacrificing speed.

Princess 68 Key Features:

Private access to the owner's stateroom
The full beam owner's stateroom is accessed from its own private stairwell running off the main salon. The stateroom includes a full en-suite and dressing area with vast hull-side windows for the most dramatic views and a sofa to watch it all from in complete comfort. A stateroom lobby houses a washer/dryer with space for an additional dryer.

Three large guest staterooms
Guests will enjoy three further cabins, two en-suites, plus a generous crew quarters. The stairwell to the guest quarters will lift to give access to a huge storage space.

Incredible social areas
Two separate seating areas are designed into the main salon with two more areas on the vast flybridge, which also comes with the option of a hardtop with integral sunroof. A high specification aft cockpit comes with surround seating, speakers, bar access from the galley and a wonderful transom seat for the most magical evenings at anchor.

Galley aft doubles your social options
The galley aft layout delivers some wonderfully flexible dining options with seating and tables opposite the galley and out in the cockpit. The galley's aft window also opens up at the touch of a button to create a bar area for the cockpit.

Commanding helm position
The 68 will feature a uniquely social and usable helm area, with the driving and navigation positions to starboard, and, at the same height, another L-shape guest area to port. The commanding helm position will also offer a door to the starboard side deck.

Walk-through foredeck
The walk-through foredeck has proved a massively popular feature with owners, offering a private retreat when in harbor or a thrilling vantage point when at sea. The 68 takes this innovative area and turns it into the most detailed foredeck entertaining area yet with seating, sunpads and huge storage lockers for all your day boating needs.

Window area
Following our incredible developments in the use of glass, the 68 will include vast glass sections to the main salon, master cabin, and forward VIP. In the master stateroom the windows will measure over 17 sq ft.

Internal volume
The 68 will offer the highest level of internal volume per square foot of any Princess yet built.

Performance
Fitted with twin diesel engines of up to 1400hp, speeds of around 33-34 knots are expected with fast efficient cruising in the mid-twenties.

New Renderings of Princess 35M Released
April 15th, 2014 - The Princess M Class design team have released new renderings showing fresh exterior profiles and detail.

The Princess 35M will deliver exquisite superyacht sophistication and style with a breathtaking exterior design that is a further evolution of our award-winning 40M flagship.

Powerful yet graceful, the 35M exterior seamlessly works in arguably the most expansive, luxurious and fun deck in this class. A vast, versatile and highly sociable foredeck truly extends outdoor living in the most stunning manner, while the flybridge will offer the space and specification normally found on a much larger yacht. To the aft of the 35M, a drop down platform lowers beneath the waves and a garage is ready to deploy an 18 foot tender at the touch of a button.

The interior of the 35M delivers exceptional volume, with a Gross Tonnage in the region of 245, which translates into a palatial four or five suite layout, with a full beam owner's stateroom on the main deck.

With her cutting-edge semi-planing hull design, the 35M is capable of exhilarating speed and globe-trotting efficiency, delivering owners a true superyacht experience.

The new renderings released show several bespoke upgrades being incorporated on the first hull as chosen by her owner, an experienced yachtsman who has been working closely with the Princess Design Team. While many of these personal innovations and ideas are to remain confidential we can reveal the exterior arrangement, which includes a redesigned flybridge area with dining for 12 and a sociable fore-and-aft bar that replaces the standard seating.

The 35M is due for launch later this year with her world debut planned in 2015.

Princess S72 World Premiere in Miami!
PRINCESS S CLASS –
INTRODUCING A NEW CLASS IN PERFORMANCE AND LUXURY

NEW PRINCESS S72 SCHEDULED FOR WORLD PREMIERE
AT THE 2014 MIAMI YACHT & BROKERAGE SHOW

December 15, 2013 - The new S CLASS range of Sportbridge yachts from Princess exemplifies all the ability, quality and design expected from our FLYBRIDGE and V CLASS models and injects a new level of performance, style, and on-water attitude. That S CLASS attitude is summed up by Princess Chairman and spearhead for all new boat development, David King, “S CLASS Sportbridge yachts will deliver a new level of design whilst honoring the ideals of a true performance craft, with our advanced deep-V hull designs and lower profiles delivering the very best in fast and highly efficient cruising in all sea conditions. But S CLASS will also deliver the same high levels of luxury and specification our customers expect, with the sleek but practical upper helm position and a large tender garage and its integrated sunpad.”

First from this new range will be the stunning S72, launching at the Miami Yacht & Brokerage Show in February 2014. Fitted with twin Caterpillar or MAN engines from 1622hp to 1800hp, the S72 will handle every bit as well as she looks. A proven deep-V hull and low center of gravity will deliver class-leading ride quality, with speeds expected to pass 37 knots, along with a highly efficient cruising range. Sleek and aggressive exterior styling will be a feature of S CLASS, from the dark wraparound superstructure glass and angled hull windows to the raked profile that flows into a strong architectural section in the cockpit; these boats deliver real attitude.

The low-profile styling conceals luxury Princess Motor Yacht features like the walk-through foredeck and that all important Sportbridge, delivering the kind of inspirational driving experience that only a Princess deep-V hull can offer. The Sportbridge is accessed by open steps designed to allow an uninterrupted view aft from the main deck salon, and delivers a level of space and sophistication that would put many conventional flybridges to shame. In the cockpit, the Princess design team have created a 3.9m tender garage, able to take a jet RIB plus a whole range of toys.

Above the garage lies a vast sunpad area, and there is still plenty of room for a deep and wide surround of cockpit seating and a full wet bar. For maximum on water lifestyle, the main deck salon is designed to flow into the cockpit, creating a vast, one-level living area. The salon’s triple aspect glass doors fold away to port, while a drop-down window, as seen on the V72, completely opens up the aft salon. For even more on-water atmosphere, an optional opening sunroof can be specified above the lower helm and forward seating.

Below decks, a three-stateroom layout includes a full beam master stateroom enjoying those S CLASS angled hull windows and a new take on interior design and finish. Princess’s Director of Creative Design, Sarah Verey, has put together an exclusive range of materials, furniture, and detailing for S CLASS. “We have delivered a next generation interior for a next generation Princess. Across the S72 you will see a completely new level of finish, with bespoke contemporary furniture and textured silk paneling mixing with polished steel and Macassar Ebony. Black, silver, and white finishes lend a fresh modernity to the interior, whilst our strong British heritage is retained through classically toned leathers and herringbone linings.” The interior cabinetry will now be offered in optional Rovere Oak and American Walnut, as well as the standard Light Oak and Serotina Cherry.

With the first S72 bound for display by Princess Yachts America in Miami in February, hull #2 is already in production. In addition, a new S80 is scheduled for launch in 2015, with two more S CLASS models planned.

The Stunning New Princess 35M!
October 15, 2013 - The M CLASS range of technically advanced and highly customizable yachts – which now includes the Princess 32M, the new 35M and the World Superyacht Award-winning 40M – has stamped the Princess marque firmly on the 100ft-plus market, demonstrating the Company’s ability to design and build some of the most technically advanced superyachts and cementing its reputation as one of the world’s most experienced shipyards.

Offering a sizeable gross tonnage of 243gt, which is 25% larger than that of the 32M yacht, the new Princess 35M (115') provides greater internal volume and, as a result, exceptionally generous accommodation, relaxation and entertainment areas throughout. The luxurious interior creates a significant sense of space and light and has been designed to ensure that the owner and their guests can maximize their use. The flexibility of the design also affords the owner the opportunity to choose from a number of different layouts.
An innovatively designed aft cockpit and transom area create an informal ‘Beach Club’ feel. Here a large seating area incorporates a combination of aft and forward facing seating, alongside which a bar can be fitted if required. Its versatility is a stand-out feature; the cockpit may be utilized either as a fun, open and informal leisure area but also can be easily transformed into a formal dining space.

Moving aft from the cockpit there is a hydraulically operated swimming platform and a further aft facing seat is integrated into the transom at this level. Launch and retrieval of a tender and waverunner is done with exceptional ease and efficiency thanks to a specially designed “winch and runway” system.

The spacious flybridge incorporates the luxuries that would be expected with a yacht in this class; built-in or free-standing sunbeds, an optional spa bath, a large bar and a multiplicity of seating and arrangements for both formal and informal dining. The forward coachroof incorporates an attractive and spacious seating and sun lounging area, designed in such a way that crew do not need to pass through it when docking the boat.
The sense of space and light continues throughout the upper deck accommodation where a vast saloon with full height windows to both port and starboard can be enhanced with sliding doors and hydraulically folding balconies on either side. The serving area and professionally appointed galley are located forward of the saloon, incorporating modern facilities and adequate storage for extended cruising.

Forward of the main deck, the masterful full beam owner’s stateroom is entered via a versatile ante-room which can be specified as an office, private TV room, library or to suit the owner’s personal requirements. Luxurious panoramic windows, two walk-in wardrobes and, further forward, an elegant bathroom with separate bath, shower and toilet facilities complete the owners suite.

On the lower deck the staterooms are also large and luxuriously appointed. A number of layout options are available; the standard arrangement is for three double staterooms, one or both forward staterooms can be supplied with single beds and these may have powered double bed conversions if required. Another layout allows for two double staterooms, giving a total of four guest staterooms. Crew quarters are also located forward on the lower deck, with three en-suite cabins providing comfortable accommodation.

The inspired design continues in the raised pilot house, which is accessible from both the flybridge and lobby area, and which also features a door to the port side deck. A full sized chart table features alongside an impressive state-of-the-art ‘glass bridge’ housing three 24” screens which form the ship’s control and monitoring system. All machinery within the engine room is located well aft to ensure good acoustic properties with specially silenced exhausts for both main engines and generators.

As with all M CLASS yachts, the new Princess 35M combines cutting-edge technology with superb performance and offers class-leading levels of luxury and build detailing. Her impressive cruising range is achieved as a result of engineered weight reduction and the utilization of the latest infused molding technology. She is constructed to the highest quality standards and to RINA classification and LY3, as well as to RINA ‘comfort on board’ specification, and can be fitted with long range fuel tanks if required.

Introducing the New Princess 43!
September 12, 2013 - We are pleased to announce the launch of an exciting new addition to the Flybridge Range, the Princess 43, at the 2013 PSP Southampton Boat Show beginning Friday, September 13th.

For over a decade the Princess 42, one of the most celebrated yachts ever to be produced by the Plymouth based shipyard, has been setting the benchmark for flybridge motor yachts in her size range. Benefiting from the latest technology and contemporary design the 43 is set to become the new icon in her class. With a sleek exterior and an all new lightweight, resin-infused hull which has been optimized to provide a smoother transition to plane and also widen the range of planing speeds, the new 43 offers the ultimate in performance, efficiency, comfort and elegance as well as impeccable seakeeping and handling.

The intelligent design of the exterior spaces offers ample scope to enjoy life out on deck. The impressive flybridge provides plenty of space to entertain guests with an alfresco dining area, as well as flexible seating forward which converts into a sunbed. This area can also be optionally specified with a wetbar with electric grill. Additional seating around a folding teak table in the cockpit provides an alternate area to relax. Twin transom doors lead to the bathing platform, which can be optionally specified with an electro-hydraulic raise/lower mechanism aiding the launch and recovery of the tender or transforming the area into a submersible beach.

Sliding glass doors lead from the large cockpit to the generously proportioned, contemporary salon. Incorporating design cues from larger craft in the range, the new 43 features large windows in the style seen on the new Princess 52, which fill the main deck with natural light and ensure wonderful views and excellent visibility for the lower helm. The latest infused structures first seen on the class leading Princess V39 also feature on the new 43 to create greater volume for the beautifully styled interior.

The 43 offers flexible accommodation for up to six guests with two well appointed en-suite staterooms, including a beautifully finished owner’s stateroom and twin guest stateroom which can be optionally specified with electrically powered sliding berths to convert to a double bed. In addition, the salon seating can be converted to a double berth for occasional guests.

The Princess 43 marks a new era for the company; brimming with style and technology - being on board will be a true pleasure for the whole family.

Princess 40M 2013 World Superyacht Award Winner!
May 8, 2013 - Each May, the superyacht industry’s elite gather for the glamorous World Superyacht Awards, which honor the finest new superyacht builds delivered to their owners in the past twelve months. This year, Princess joined the prestigious list of finalists with the very first 40 meter yacht built by the British yard – Imperial Princess. Today, we are pleased to announce that Imperial Princess has been chosen as the winner in the "Three-deck semi-displacement or planing motor yacht" category for 2013!

Combining a glittering awards ceremony with a gala dinner and dance, the World Superyacht Awards – dubbed the Oscars of the superyacht world – are attended by an elite guest list of international superyacht owners and the most influential players in the superyacht industry. Each winner is presented with a coveted Neptune trophy, which has become synonymous with excellence in superyacht build and design.

For Princess to have been selected as a finalist with what is their first ‘superyacht’ build is an incredible achievement but then again, Imperial Princess is an incredible yacht. As Boat International so aptly summarized, "Despite being the first foray into the arena of semi-custom superyachts for the UK-based Princess Yachts International, the judges felt that this first yacht of a series had been designed and built to impressively high standards. They also admired her attractive exterior lines and her exterior and interior spaces, which were also well decorated and laid out to ensure an optimum division between the size of guest and crew areas. Princess collaborated with Bernard Olesinski on the exterior stylist; Olesinski also provided naval architecture, while Bannenberg & Rowell Design and Princess gave the first 40m Princess her interior design."

This outstanding achievement follows the recent selection of Imperial Princess as "Best Production Motor Yacht (24m to 40m)" for the 2013 Asia Boating Awards, further evidence of the tireless commitment of Princess to continue to produce the world's finest luxury performance cruising yachts in their class.

For Princess to have been selected for these prestigious awards for their very first 40 meter yacht is an incredible accolade in itself, and a clear recognition from the industry of outstanding early achievements within a sector that brings the company of many world-renowned large yacht builders. All of us at Viking Sport Cruisers wish to congratulate the magnificent team at Princess Yachts International on this extraordinary honor, as well as the extremely talented teams of Bernard Olesinski Ltd. and Bannenberg & Rowell Design for their work in creating a new benchmark in the 40M motor yacht class.

Presenting the All New Princess 56

June 12, 2012 - With preliminary details unveiled during the Miami Yacht & Brokerage Show this past winter, Viking Sport Cruisers is pleased to bring you further information on the outstanding new Princess 56, scheduled to make her US debut later this year. Now, with our first hull under contract for an anxious new owner, this model is already off to a strong start in the North American market!

As a replacement for the popular Princess 54 and coming on the heels of the recently launched Princess 60, the all new Princess 56 certainly benefits from an outstanding design heritage. The trademark Princess deep V hull delivers confident and assured seakeeping, while its finely tuned variable deadrise design and fully resin infused construction combine to provide outstanding performance and remarkable efficiency.

Out on deck, guests can enjoy al fresco dining in the shaded cockpit area or on the vast flybridge, where generous seating is complemented by a raised sunbed and fully equipped wetbar with top loading refrigerator, sink, and grill. Viking Sport Cruisers invites you to contact us or your local authorized Princess dealer for further information and availability on this exciting new addition to the Princess Flybridge Range.

Take a Closer Look at the New Princess V39

June 1, 2012 - Viking Sport Cruisers brings you further information on the revolutionary new Princess V39 – an unparalleled blend of quality craftsmanship, luxury, style and performance at an unbelievable value.

On track for a US debut this coming fall, the new Princess V39 marks a stunning return for the company to the sub-40 foot class. This model is particularly exciting for all of us at Viking Sport Cruisers as it combines an exceptional level of standard equipment, a layout spacious enough to rival larger express yachts, and a remarkable price point aimed at bringing cruising customers into our Princess family early in their boating lives.

An expansive teak-laid main deck is replete with abundant seating and a convenient wetbar with refrigerator, sink, and grill shaded by an integral hardtop with electric opening center section. The swim platform is large enough to accommodate a tender and provides the perfect focal point for water side activities.

Featuring a true two stateroom layout, the interior is finished in the finest materials and the same craftsmanship and attention to detail throughout that has come to be expected in the Princess range. A large salon is complemented by a well equipped galley for a highly sociable entertaining space with generous natural light and a luxurious contemporary style.

If you have been considering an express cruiser in the 40 foot range, the new Princess V39 and her extensive list of “Viking Standards” is worth a serious look. Here’s why:

* Standard twin Volvo Diesel D6 330HP engines with joystick controlled Duoprop drives for ease of maneuvering. This system offers superb fuel economy, quicker acceleration, lower planing speeds, and increased top end performance when compared to traditional inboards or pod drive systems in a package that is significantly lighter.

* Standard teak decking throughout the main deck that also features generous molded seating, and a teak dining table with adjacent wetbar housing a sink, grill, icemaker, and top loading refrigerator.

* Standard hardtop featuring the largest sliding sunroof in its class is stylishly integrated with the forward windshield to minimize the need for canvas enclosures.

* Standard layout comprises two private staterooms with solid bulkheads and stateroom doors in lieu of curtains or sliding partitions. The aft stateroom has twin berths that can be moved together to create a large queen size berth. The centrally located head is accessed privately from the forward stateroom, or via the main salon for guest use and incorporates a large stall shower with a bench seat. This layout avoids the “split head” or “wet head” arrangements more commonly found in the 30-40 foot range.

* The industry-leading resin infused construction techniques provide an exceptionally light and rigid hull and superstructure and reduce the need for additional stiffening structures that compromise interior living space. The result is an interior layout that rivals yachts above the 40 foot mark in terms of scale and space, but with the ease of use and lower overall cost of ownership that comes with a 39 foot boat.
The V39 is a born performer and exceptionally capable in tough sea conditions. But don’t take our word for it...the following is an excerpt from the professional captain’s report from a recent V39 delivery run to Oslo, Norway from Plymouth, England, a distance of nearly 800 miles across open ocean:

“For the majority of the trip from Plymouth to Helgoland, approx 600 miles, we had a following wind, sea and swell, wind force between 10 – 20 knots and a wave and swell height of around 3 metres (10 feet). During these conditions the boat was doing 2900rpm, 28/29 knots and consumption of 80/85 litres/hour (21-22 US gals./hour). Only once during this period did the boat bury its bow in a following wave and then the water just flowed rapidly up the foredeck, across the windscreen and over the roof into aft cockpit area draining immediately. There was no effect on the speed as it was like a hot knife through butter. Also during this period the boat never slammed once.”

“Running from Skagen to Oslo, a dist of approx 140 miles in a flat calm sea with a low westerly swell, we ran continually at 3000 rpm, 30/31 knots, 90 litres /hour (24 US gals/hour). Shortly before arriving at Oslo, I opened her up to max revs 3500, 38.4knots, 104 litres/hr (27 US gals./hour). Fuel onboard was 500litres (132 US gals.), water 50%.”

“I was very impressed with handling of craft especially in breezy conditions. The V39 seemed not to be affected by the wind in close waters situations and I found the joystick system very affective on the boat.”

“I found the performance of the boat both at sea and in marinas outstanding and look forward to delivering V39s in the future.”
